Job summary

Mandan-Park-District is seeking a part-time seasonal Score Keeper/Timer to manage score sheets and timing for assigned basketball games. You will ensure scoreboards are ready at game start and during halves, and handle materials needed for game activities.

Reliability and punctuality are essential, with some prior scorekeeping experience preferred. Responsibilities include preparing scoresheets, recording player details, and notifying supervisors of any issues.

• Experience or knowledge of basketball is required.
• Previous participation and/or scorekeeping experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with scoreboards/score books is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare score sheets for assigned games, including team names and players.
• Be scheduled to work 2 to 4 games per assignment.
• Ensure basketball scoreboards are ready at game start and between halves.
• Fill out scoresheets accurately and completely; request materials as needed.
• Find a substitute if you cannot attend, with supervisor approval.

JOB INFORMATIONTitle: Score Keeper/TimerClassification: Seasonal Part-time Per GameSalary Range: $12.00 per hourSupervisors: Works under the supervision of the Recreation SupervisorJOB SUMMARY*Score Keeper/Timer prepares score sheets for assigned games (team name, players, etc.)*Score Keeper/Timer will be scheduled to work 2 to 4 games per assignment.*Makes sure game basketball is available at start of each game and responsiblefor it at each half time and between games.*Must be reliable and conscientious.*Employee is responsible to inform a supervisor of job-related problems.*Employee is expected to be punctual and reliable.JOB REQUIREMENTS- Arrive no later than 15 minutes before first scheduled game time- While teams are arriving, staff should be getting out the supplies needed for game activity.- Be familiar with the scoreboard at assigned facility(s)- Fills out scoresheets accurately and completely- Request materials needed for game activities- Assist in completing Incident/Accident Reports- Responsible to find a substitute to take your place if you cannot be there. Must beapproved by Recreation Supervisor.UPON COMPLETION OF GAMES- Leaves the school gym and all school equipment in the same condition as found- Returns all supplies and equipment to the storage room- Reports any issues or concerns to assigned facility supervisor- Must be at least 16 years of age. (15 if working weekends)- Experience/knowledge of the game of basketball- Previous participation and/or score keeping experience- Experience/familiarity with scoreboards/score books- Displays ability to work effectively with other employees- Must pay attention and always stay focused on game activity. No cell phone use, texting, social media, etc.
