Salt & Straw in California is hiring Ice Cream Scoopers to create memorable moments for guests. You’ll deliver warm service, share flavor stories, scoop ice cream, and help guide the flow of the shop while keeping the space clean and welcoming.

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about working with people, comfortable discussing flavors, and eager to learn. You’ll need strong communication, a positive attitude, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced team

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ years old.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Experience in food service, retail, cafe, restaurant, hospitality or customer service preferred.
• Comfortable discussing flavors and engaging with guests.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming experiences for every guest.
• Share flavor stories, offer samples, and help guests discover their next favorite scoop.
• Scoop ice cream, make waffle cones, operate the register, and support daily shop operations.
• Greet guests, answer questions, and guide the flow of the shop.
• Accurately process transactions and assist with online and delivery orders.
• Prepare products according to recipes and quality standards.
• Restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products throughout the shift.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards across the shop.
• Support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks to keep the shop running smoothly.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to create a positive and supportive environment.
