Our therapies leverage natural gene silencing pathways to address diseases with a genetic basis, offering potential in various therapeutic areas, including liver and lung diseases.

Headquartered in Pasadena, CA, with research teams in Madison, WI, and San Diego, CA, Arrowhead employs innovative, science-driven professionals dedicated to bringing new therapies to patients.

The Position

We are seeking a highly accomplished and motivated Scientist/Senior Scientist, Computational Biologist, to join our Translational Genetics team. The role involves developing a comprehensive Therapeutic Target and Biomarker Knowledge Database to support target and biomarker discovery, utilizing large-scale datasets such as UK Biobank and All of Us. The ideal candidate will have a PhD with at least 2 years of postdoctoral or professional experience and a strong publication record in bioinformatics, genetics, or computational biology.

This role focuses on analyzing datasets to elucidate disease mechanisms and identify therapeutic opportunities, including conducting GWAS, TWAS, and Mendelian randomization studies.

Responsibilities

  • Human genetics Driven Therapeutic Target and Biomarker Identification
    • Conduct GWAS to identify genetic variants associated with diseases and traits.
    • Perform TWAS to link gene expression to disease phenotypes.
    • Apply Mendelian randomization to assess causal relationships.
    • Investigate structural variations like CNVs and repeat expansions in disease mechanisms.
    • Develop genetic landscapes to understand target-disease relationships, efficacy, and safety.
    • Collaborate with experimental and clinical teams to design experiments and interpret big biobank data.
    • Communicate findings through reports, visualizations, and presentations.
  • Scientific Leadership
    • Lead initiatives to discover, validate, and prioritize therapeutic targets and biomarkers.
