Job summary

Novello Therapeutics seeks a highly motivated Scientist or Senior Scientist in Bioinformatics to advance our cryptic antigen discovery platform. This hands-on computational biologist will lead analyses of multi-omics data and build scalable pipelines to support antigen discovery and validation.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in immunopeptidomics or MS data analysis, a strong interest in cancer immunotherapy, and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
• 1+ year (Scientist) or 3+ years (Senior Scientist) of relevant industry experience.
• Strong experience with proteomics and/or immunopeptidomics workflows.
• Experience analyzing mass spectrometry data (highly preferred).
• Experience integrating multi-omics data and mining existing datasets.
• Familiar with data analysis methods and artifacts.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R and command-line tools.
• Experience in cancer immunology or oncology antigen discovery preferred.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly collaborative, team-oriented, in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of computational workflows to identify cancer-restricted cryptic peptides.
• Build and maintain scalable computing architecture (cloud and HPC) for high-throughput data.
• Implement secure, cost-effective data storage and retrieval for large datasets.
• Identify, re-analyze and integrate large public datasets including immunopeptidomics.
• Collaborate with immunology, protein engineering, and antibody discovery teams.
• Stay current with methods and data resources in immunopeptidomics and proteogenomics.
• Present findings to leadership and contribute to reports and IP.

Summary

Novello Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Scientist or Senior Scientist in Bioinformatics to play a key role in advancing our cryptic antigen discovery and validation platform. Reporting to the Director of Research, this individual will lead computational analyses of multi-omics datasets and build scalable pipelines to support antigen discovery, prioritization and validation. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on computational biologist with deep experience in analysis of immunopeptidomics and/or mass spectrometry data, a strong interest in cancer immunotherapy, and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of computational workflows to identify and validate cancer-restricted cryptic peptides derived from the dark genome
• Design, build, and maintain scalable computing architecture (cloud and/or on-premise high-performance computing clusters) optimized for high-throughput biological data processing
• Implement secure, organized, and cost-effective data storage and retrieval solutions for large datasets, maintaining compliance with data governance and security standards
• Identify, re‑analyse and integrate large-scale public datasets, including: immunopeptidomics (mass spectrometry‑derived HLA‑peptide datasets), and other datasets
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with immunology, protein engineering, and antibody discovery teams to support target discovery, validation, and indication selection
• Stay current with emerging computational methods and data resources relevant to immunopeptidomics, proteogenomics, and cancer biology
• Present findings to senior leadership, internal teams, and external collaborators, contribute to study reports, publications, and intellectual property

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing mass spectrometry data (highly preferred)
• Experience integrating multi-omics data, including identification of and experience mining from existing datasets
• Familiar with understanding data analysis methods and potential for associated data artifacts
• Proficiency in programming (Python and/or R) and command‑line tools
• Experience in cancer immunology or oncology antigen discovery preferred, familiarity with non‑canonical ORFs
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
