Job summary

Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories Professional Scientific Services is seeking a Research Associate to advance analytical assay development for cell therapy products. You will contribute to assay qualification, run experiments, analyze data, and prepare technical reports for cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates bring GMP experience, strong molecular biology skills, and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment near Berkeley, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience; GMP assay validation is a plus.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Commutable distance to Berkeley, CA encouraged to apply.

Job Description

Research Associateresponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supports late-stage cell therapy products through analytical assay development, assay qualification/validation, and sample testing activities.
• Contributes to the design, planning, execution, and optimization of analytical assay development activities and assay validation studies.
• Performs experiments, analyzes and interprets data, troubleshoots technical issues, and communicates results and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• Provides clear and proactive status updates on assigned activities, risks, and timelines to project teams and management.
• Prepares and presents scientific data in technical reports, team discussions, and departmental meetings.
• Supports preparation and review of assay-related technical documentation, including protocols, methods, and reports.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support analytical strategy and timely project execution.

Contributes to laboratory operations, including ordering, organization, equipment monitoring, maintenance, and general laboratory compliance

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Strong experience with mammalian cell culture.
• Hands-on experience with DNA/RNA extractionand molecular biology assays such as qPCR, ddPCR, and DNA/RNA quantitation.
• Experience with QX ONE, QX 200 andQuantStudio 7instrumentation preferred.
• Working knowledge of analytical method development, assay optimization, qualification, and validationin aGMP environment.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex experimental data, troubleshoot assay performance issues, and support method improvements.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write and review SOPs, technical reports, and scientific documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, managers, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Solid understanding of GMP requirementsand documentation practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline required.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience; additional experience in analytical development or GMP assay validation strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting late-stage developmentor regulated laboratory environments is preferred.
• Must have authorization to work in the United Stateswithout current or future sponsorship requirements
• Candidates located within a commutable distance to Berkeley, CAare highly encouraged to apply
