Kelly Science & Clinical in San Francisco is seeking a Scientist, iPSC Model Development for a fully-benefitted contract-to-hire opportunity with a leading Bay Area life sciences company.

The ideal candidate has an MS or PhD and 1–3 years in biotech, with hands-on mammalian cell culture, reporter assays, flow cytometry, qPCR, and ICC.

You will design, develop, and optimize iPSC-based assays in 2D, 3D, spheroid and organoid workflows, contributing to a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in life sciences with 1–3 years in biotech/pharma experience.
• Mammalian cell culture experience including human/rodent lines and stem cells.
• Experience designing and optimizing reporter assays.
• Proficiency in flow cytometry, qPCR, and ICC.
• Strong technical writing and oral communication.
• Ability to collaborate across scientific and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize iPSC model assays and workflows.
• Design and execute in vitro cell-based assays in 2D/3D systems.

• Proficiency in flow cytometry, cell sorting, quantitative PCR (qPCR), and immunocytochemistry (ICC) techniques.
• Proven track record developing and executing in vitro cell-based assays across 2D, 3D, spheroid, and organoid models.
• Meticulous technical writing skills and strong oral communication ability, complemented by excellent organizational acumen.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven start-up environment; exhibits outstanding interpersonal skills and collaborates effectively with scientific and business stakeholders.

Preferred

• Significant experience with human stem cell research and stem cell culture techniques.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cell-based assay design and data interpretation.
• Familiarity with GMP/GLP laboratory practices and quality systems is advantageous.
• Exposure to cell culture automation technologies is a strong plus.
