At Amgen, if you feel like you’re part of something bigger, it’s because you are. Our shared mission, to serve patients living with serious illnesses, drives all that we do.

Since 1980, we’ve helped pioneer the world of biotech in our fight against the world’s toughest diseases. With our focus on four therapeutic areas –Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease– we reach millions of patients each year. Amgen is advancing a broad and deep pipeline of medicines to treat cancer, heart disease, inflammatory conditions, rare diseases, and obesity and obesity-related conditions.

As a member of the Amgen team, you’ll help make a lasting impact on the lives of patients as we research, manufacture, and deliver innovative medicines to help people live longer, fuller happier lives.

Our award-winning culture is collaborative, innovative, and science based. If you have a passion for challenges and the opportunities that lay within them, you’ll thrive as part of the Amgen team. Join us and transform the lives of patients while transforming your career.

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will contribute to Inflammation discovery programs by planning and coordinating project tasks, generating and interpreting high-quality experimental data, and applying computational and AI-enabled approaches to deepen our understanding of disease biology, refine therapeutic hypotheses and support target discovery.

Working with minimal supervision, you will manage defined program components, develop an area of scientific expertise, and communicate data-driven insights that help advance project decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate defined project tasks and activities that support target identification, validation, and progression of Inflammation discovery programs.
  • Design, execute, analyze, and interpret bench/wet lab studies to investigate disease mechanisms and test therapeutic hypotheses with scientific rigor and appropriate urgency.
  • Apply computational, AI-enabled, and data-analytic approaches to generate mechanistic insights, refine experimental design, and integrate findings across data sources.
  • Integrate experimental results with published literature, human genetics, clinical observations, and internal or external datasets to inform ongoing project design.
  • Develop and optimize solutions to technical problems of advanced scope and complexity within an emerging area of expertise.
  • Collaborate across functions and departments, contributing at the project-team level and building constructive relationships with wet-lab, computational, translational, and drug-discovery partners.
  • Organize, interpret, document, and present project data and scientific recommendations within work groups, project teams, and internal scientific forums.
  • Coach or guide others within the work group or project team where appropriate, and contribute to a collaborative culture of scientific curiosity, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence.
