Entegris, Inc. in Decatur, TX is seeking a Scientist II, Materials to join the R&D Analytical Lab. You will perform materials testing, develop methods, and support product development and quality improvement.

The role collaborates with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to analyze materials, investigate performance, and drive data-based solutions. Bachelor’s in materials science and lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in materials science or related field.
  • Familiarity with lab environment and understanding of laboratory procedures and methods.
  • An inquiring mind, a team player and strong communication skills.
  • Carbon, graphite and/or ceramic materials experience / understanding is desired.
  • Computer skills related to data analysis, word processing and image processing.
  • SEM, EDS and optical microscope experience a plus. Thermal analysis, XRD, Raman, and physical properties testing experience also desirable.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel, either individually or as a team member.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, observes approved safety procedures, and communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor or EHS.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and goals.
  • Candidate must have the capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control law.

Job Description:

Entegris is currently seeking Scientist II, Materials for our Decatur, TX facility.

In this position, you will play a key role in the R&D Analytical Lab by providing materials characterization, testing, and technical expertise to support product development, quality improvement, and customer needs.   • Confers with technicians, R&D scientists, and manufacturing personnel regarding results and research, prepares technical reports and presentations.

  • Ability to conduct projects independently and navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with a variety of analytical techniques.
