Waters Corporation seeks a Scientist II to resolve manufacturing process issues in a Bioprocess setting and to support Technical Transfer activities. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, GMP knowledge, and experience with flow cytometry to improve process efficiency and product quality.
Applicants should have a BS in a related field, 3 years in the medical device/pharma industry, and be fluent in English and Spanish.

The Scientist II role is responsible for resolving manufacturing process problems and improving process efficiency at a Bioprocess manufacturing setting. He/she works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation using scientific and problem-solving tools while following GMP policies and procedures. The role may also provide support for Technical Transfer activities.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or other related field
Experience: 3 years’ experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Prior experience with flow cytometry. Proficient in handling infectious biological samples is a plus. Experience developing or improving manufacturing processes for medical devices or pharmaceutical products.
Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Systems and Operational Process Optimization. Knowledge of standard laboratory practices, statistics, and computer skills. Fully bilingual, English and Spanish. Demonstrates working knowledge and practical ability in a variety of complex laboratory procedures, established techniques, instruments and equipment. Knowledge of process, product and material validations. Proficient with MS office suite. Working knowledge of Minitab or other statistical software is a plus. Effective written and oral communication skills, including data and results presentation to team members. Effective time management. Knowledge of scientific principles as it relates to defining problems, collecting data, establishing root cause and drawing valid conclusions.
