Job Description

The Scientist I, Manufacturing Sciences, will be responsible for the synthesis of functionalized resins used in columns.

•Use manufacturing protocols to accurately synthesize raw and functionalized resins for column production
Address and report problems in daily manufacturing and propose effective countermeasures
Communicate effectively with other production staff regarding delays, issues in production, etc
Interact efficiently in a cross functional setting between several departments
•Collaborate in PPI initiatives to improve overall quality and yields of various synthesized resins
Participate in 5S, JDI, and Safety initiatives

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry.

0-1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Direct experience with polymer chemistry
Experience with chromatography software and H/UPLC preferred
Ability to perform routine analysis on size distribution and surface area of resins
•Solid understanding of manufacturing environments and standard chemistry techniques and principles
Familiarity working with standard software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Familiarity with chromatography systems

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $27.91–$41.86.
