Job summary

AbbVie Oncology Discovery is seeking a highly motivated cancer cell biologist to support drug discovery programs focused on antibody-drug conjugates. You will develop and optimize pharmacological, biochemical and cell-based assays while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to move programs from discovery toward preclinical development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience or Master’s with 2+ years in molecular/cellular biology or related field.
  • Proficiency in tissue culture, biochemical in vitro assay development and molecular biology techniques (e.g., Western blotting/WES, ELISA, proliferation assays, FACS, lentivirus).
  • Background in drug discovery, pharmacology and assay development.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad, FlowJo, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute in vitro studies to assess antibody-drug conjugates.
  • Analyze and interpret data; present to project team and propose follow-ups.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize experimental procedures to advance programs.

Description:

AbbVie Oncology Discovery is seeking a highly motivated and experienced cancer cell biologist to support drug discovery projects in our in vitro cancer biology team with a focus on antibody-drug conjugates. The candidate will work closely with a team of experienced scientists to develop and optimize key pharmacological, biochemical and cell-based assays to support multiple programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute in vitro studies to assess novel antibody-drug conjugates
  • Analyze and interpret experiments and present data to the broader project team and group meetings. Propose relevant follow-up experiments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and/or optimize experimental procedures as needed to further the program goals.
  • Contribute to the preparation of data packages for scientific publications, regulatory documents, and patent applications
  • Work independently in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment as part of a diverse research team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance programs from early discovery to preclinical development

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with two years of experience in molecular/cellular biology, cancer biology, pharmacology or related discipline with significant research experience.
  • Proficiency in tissue culture, cellular & biochemical in vitro assay development and molecular biology techniques (e.g Western blotting/WES, ELISA, proliferation assays, FACS, lentivirus)
  • Background in drug discovery, pharmacology and assay development.
  • Organizational skills and experience with computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, GraphPad, FlowJo, etc.

Preferred:

  • Understanding and application of methods of antibody characterization and/or antibody-drug conjugates.
  • Knowledge and experience with a broad range of assays to characterize targeted protein degradation
  • Familiarity and proficiency with available genomic/transcriptomic datasets (TCGA, DepMap, CCLE etc.)
