Job description

Focus: Stealth Mode

Job Overview: In this role, you will design, synthesize, and modify peptides to support early-stage drug discovery in a fast-moving startup company, where adaptability and a hands-on approach are essential.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine peptide synthesis techniques using both manual and automated solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) methods.
  • Analyze peptide purity and structural integrity through advanced instrumentation, including HPLC, LC-MS, and MALDI-TOF.
  • Apply post-synthetic modifications to enhance peptide properties, ensuring optimal functionality for drug discovery applications.
  • Innovate and streamline lab workflows by improving automation processes and optimizing synthesis protocols for increased efficiency.
  • Ensure meticulous data management by maintaining accurate documentation in electronic lab notebooks and adhering to safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and troubleshoot experimental approaches, advancing peptide-based therapeutic research.

Primary Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Peptide Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field with industry experience in peptide synthesis.
  • Proficiency in automated peptide synthesizers and analytical techniques, including HPLC and LC-MS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot synthesis challenges and refine workflows.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage data integrity in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN).
  • Effective collaborator who thrives in interdisciplinary research and team-based environments.
  • Commitment to continuous learning with a proactive approach to knowledge-sharing and mentorship. ?
