Job summary

Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/Staff Scientist in the Lewis Lab. The role focuses on neuronal mitochondria research using diverse techniques, with opportunities to contribute to publications and grants.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a biological science or related field (or M.D.), be fluent in standard lab methods, and capable of independent work with teamwork. Laboratory management and training duties are included.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics or related area, or M.D., or equivalent.
• Familiarity with standard lab techniques.
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scientific research.
• Present scientific/technical information formally and informally.
• Oversee and/or manage research project(s).
• Supervise laboratory personnel according to policies and laws.
• Modify, develop, maintain and improve lab procedures and protocols.
• Assist with preparation of results for publications, grants and presentations.
• Coach and provide technical advice to employees/affiliates in the lab.
• Build constructive relationships with other labs and advisers for experimental design.
• Order and maintain lab supplies and equipment.
