Overview

This position provides analytical chemistry support and/or remediation to all chemistry-related projects for BD products currently on the market and under development, in observance of product development and regulatory requirements as well as internal quality procedures. The Scientist 2 position supports the stability testing program to approve process and/or product design changes and, as required, supports the development and validation of analytical methodologies for incoming raw materials, in-process, and finished product release testing.

Description

This position provides analytical chemistry support and/or remediation to all chemistry-related projects for BD products currently on the market and under development, all while complying with product development and regulatory requirements as well as internal quality procedures. The Scientist 2 position is also key to the conduct of the stability testing program to support the approval of process and/or product design changes and, as required, also supports the development and validation of analytical methodologies for incoming raw materials, in-process, and finished product release testing.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Assures that all aspects of their assigned areas are secure and maintained in accordance to all applicable procedural requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: BS or MS in Chemistry/Pharmaceutics
  • Experience: 2-8 years of laboratory experience analyzing topical or liquid dosage forms (solutions, suspensions, emulsions, micro-emulsions, etc.)
  • Technical Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of analytical chemistry principles and techniques
    • Ability to apply scientific knowledge to standard and non-standard situations
    • Proficiency in planning workflow and determining work priorities
    • Experience documenting and communicating project information
    • Mathematical and scientific reasoning abilities
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience working in FDA-regulated environments with GMP documentation requirements
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid scientific conclusions, and propose solutions
  • Project Management: Capability to organize and prioritize work, manage projects effectively, and adapt to changing deadlines
  • Communication: Ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: PhD in Chemistry/Pharmaceutics
  • Experience: Medical device industry experience
  • Leadership: Experience leading small-scale product improvement projects and coordinating work of others
  • Scientific Writing: Experience writing scientific protocols and reports
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Quality departments
  • Product Development: Developed knowledge of product development processes and understanding of market/customer needs
