Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, a Sonic Healthcare USA company, seeks an experienced Scientific Director to provide scientific, technical, and operational leadership across the laboratory organization. The role oversees implementation, validation, and optimization of new testing methodologies, platforms, and R&D initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality services.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree required in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Minimum five years of laboratory leadership or management experience.
• Experience overseeing multiple laboratory disciplines and testing areas.
• Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership for implementation of new clinical laboratory tests and research initiatives.
• Ensure scientific validity, integrity, and regulatory compliance of testing processes.
• Direct development, validation, verification, and implementation of new testing methodologies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative testing solutions.
• Determine appropriate testing platforms for clinical applications.
• Lead quality and regulatory readiness across the laboratory organization.
• Mentor scientists and staff in testing methodologies and competencies.
• Collaborate with Medical Directors and leadership to advance strategic initiatives.
