Job summary

Everwell Health Company in Saddle Brook, NJ seeks a Scientific Affairs Manager to transform scientific evidence into compelling, commercially relevant communications for our ingredient portfolio.

You will partner with Marketing and Sales, review literature, and assist in preclinical/clinical planning, communicating complex science clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required; PhD is a plus.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in scientific affairs, medical communications, or related fields.
  • Experience translating evidence into claims, presentations, or marketing materials is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for dietary supplements and functional foods is desirable.

Job description

The Scientific Affairs Manager is responsible for translating scientific evidence into accurate, compelling, and commercially-relevant scientific communications in support of Everwell Health ingredients.Reporting to the Senior Scientific Affairs manager, this role supports day-to-day scientific affairs activities and serves a key scientific partner to Marketing and Sales, helping endure that ingredient claims, marketing materials, customer communications, presentations, and educational content are scientifically accurate, appropriately substantiated, and in line with market regulatory requirements.

The Scientific Affairs manager will communicate ingredient science directly to internal stakeholders, as well as directly to customers and other external stakeholders through virtual and in-person meetings, presentations, webinars, conferences, and industry events. The role will also support the Senior Manager, Scientific Affairs and Chief Science Officer in the planning and execution of preclinical and clinical research programs, including literature assessment, protocol development, study monitoring, data interpretation, and translation of study findings into claims and scientific communications. The successful candidate will combine strong scientific judgment with the ability to communicate complex science clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Scientific Support – Execution, Translation, and Claims
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the scientific evidence supporting Everwell Health Ingredients' portfolio.
  • Support the development, substantiation, and maintenance of ingredient claims based on the totality of available scientific evidence.
  • Support maintenance of internal claims substantiation and scientific evidence documentation, including substantiation dossiers and data/information needed to support regulatory filings
  • Critically evaluate scientific publications, study results, and external scientific information for quality, relevance, and applicability to the company's ingredients.
  • Support Senior Manager, Scientific Affairs and Chief Science Officer in the planning and execution of preclinical and clinical research programs.
  • Review and interpret study data and contribute to identification of scientifically defensible conclusions, claims opportunities, and follow-up research needs.
  • Support translation of preclinical, clinical, mechanistic, and other scientific evidence into clear, accurate, and commercially relevant product positioning, claims, scientific narratives, and communications.
  • Support the Senior Scientific Affairs Manager and Chief Science Officer in the planning and execution of preclinical and clinical research programs.
  • Participate in study monitoring and review study progress, data, and deliverables for scientific quality and completeness.
  • Support translation of study results into claims, presentations, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, scientific materials, and commercial communications
  • Conduct literature assessments and scientific background reviews to inform study concepts, protocols, endpoints, and research questions.
  • Update and maintain internal literature libraries and manage documentation that tracks upcoming, ongoing, and past pre-clinical and clinical research projects.
  • Tracking and maintaining ongoing review of changes in the external regulatory and competitive environment
Marketing and Commercial Support
  • Support Marketing in the development and scientific review of marketing collateral, websites, presentations, white papers, educational materials, webinars, social and digital content, and other communications.
  • Review marketing and commercial materials for scientific accuracy, appropriate interpretation of evidence, and consistency with substantiated ingredient benefits.
  • Help convert technical scientific findings into differentiated, understandable, and credible messaging appropriate for customers, practitioners, consumers, and other audiences.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, and other functions to ensure scientific messaging is consistent across channels and aligned with company strategy.
  • Provide scientific input into new product positioning, ingredient differentiation, and commercial opportunities.
Customer and External Scientific Engagement
  • Serve as a scientific representative of Everwell Health Ingredients in customer meetings, both remotely and in person.
  • Present the scientific rationale, mechanisms, clinical evidence, and substantiated benefits supporting the company's ingredients.
  • Respond to customer scientific and technical questions and provide appropriate scientific materials and supporting literature.
  • Deliver scientific presentations at customer meetings, webinars, conferences, trade shows, industry events, and other external forums.
  • Build credibility and effective working relationships with customer technical, R&D, medical, scientific, and commercial teams.
  • Support customer-specific scientific education and ingredient training as appropriate.
Internal Scientific Collaboration and Education
  • Provide scientific training and education to Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and other Everwell Health employees regarding ingredient science and clinically substantiated benefits.
  • Work cross-functionally to support business priorities.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant scientific, regulatory, and industry developments affecting dietary supplements, functional foods, and nutritional ingredients.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline required; PhD or other advanced scientific degree is a plus.
  • Approximately 3–5+ years of relevant industry experience in scientific affairs, medical/scientific communications, nutritional science, clinical research, dietary supplements, functional foods, food ingredients, consumer health, or a related field.
  • Experience translating scientific evidence into claims, presentations, marketing materials, educational content, or customer-facing communications strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting clinical or preclinical research programs preferred.
  • Experience within the dietary supplement, functional food, nutrition, or branded ingredient industry is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory framework governing dietary supplement and food claims is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong scientific writing, interpretation, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to distinguish between what scientific evidence demonstrates, supports, suggests, and does not support.
  • Ability to develop scientifically rigorous communications while understanding commercial objectives and audience needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting directly with customers and external scientific stakeholders.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel approximately up to 30%, including customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, investigator/CRO meetings, and company meetings.
