Job summary

The Lawrenceville School invites applicants to join the Independent School Teaching Residency (ISTR) program, a two-year teaching fellowship with PennGSE beginning June 2027. Fellows teach their own classes, live on campus, and participate in residential life and co‑curricular activities.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have experience with young people. Fellows work with mentor teachers and earn a PennGSE Master of Education while teaching at Lawrenceville.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience working with young people.
• Experience in an area of co-curricular school life.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding academic environment.
• Desire to engage in the life of a boarding school community.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Applications are due October 31st, 2026.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Teaching two different preparations/courses.
• Year 1: two sections in Fall; three in Winter/Spring. Year 2: four sections in Fall; three in the other term.
• Residential duties: supervise a dormitory, chaperone, and advise students.
• Co-Curricular: coach at least one season and lead an additional term of activity.
• Other duties as assigned.
