BASIS Independent Brooklyn Upper School seeks a Science Teaching Fellow to float between classes and assist the lead teacher, fostering a joyful, imaginative learning environment within a rigorous, hands-on curriculum.

The Fellow will learn BASIS model with growth opportunities, contribute to a positive achievement-driven culture, attend all staff meetings, and support teachers and students across the school.

BASIS Independent Brooklyn Upper School, a grades 3–12 private school, is seeking qualified candidates for a Science Teaching Fellow for immediate hire!

What We're Looking For

The Teaching Fellow will float between classes andassist the lead teacher to create an environment where learning is a joyful and rewarding experience that maintains the integrity of each child’s imagination and natural curiosity. The environment fosters an exposure to a thematic, hands-on, comprehensive, and content-rich curriculum. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to foster a sense of wonder while engaging in the world that surrounds us, equipping students with a foundation for future success.

The Teaching Fellow's role is to assist the lead teacher while learning the BASIS Independent Schools modelwith opportunities for growth and a successful transition into Lead Teacher roles. Teaching Fellows have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the school preparing them for the classroom or administration in the future. Teaching Fellows help in the efforts to build and maintain a strong, positive achievement-oriented school culture. This position is a visible presence in all areas of the school and can assist with any issues relating to the well-being of the students during their time at the school.

The Teaching Fellows will be required to attend all staff meetings and any training required of Teachers.

Primary Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Additional Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree is required (early education preferred). Candidates must possess the willingness to keep current in both subject matter knowledge and BASIS Independent Schools teaching methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications: A successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills and be open to new ideas in teaching methods.
