Job summary

Seeforever is looking for a Science Teacher at Maya Angelou Academy to provide instructional services within a secure facility in Washington, D.C. The candidate will facilitate multidisciplinary courses including Biology, Earth Science, and Chemistry, while maintaining a positive learning environment. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and be eligible for initial certification in the relevant content area. The salary range for this position is $67,500 to $107,500 per year, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be eligible for initial certification by OSSE in the appropriate content area.
• Experience with opportunity or justice-involved youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate multi-grade coursework for groups of scholars.
• Maintain a positive, structured learning environment.
• Work closely with colleagues and leadership for educational delivery.
• Ensure instructional materials comply with educational regulations.
• Prepare required reports on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
