Job summary

Flint Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to design, implement, and assess instruction aligned with our educational objectives. The role emphasizes engaging, inclusive instruction and collaboration with staff, students, and families to strengthen the science program.

The teacher will develop lessons that meet district standards, maintain high expectations, monitor progress, and provide timely feedback.

Qualifications

Ability to work cooperatively on a teaching team.
Ability to communicate with students effectively through speaking, reading, and writing as appropriate.
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Internet, Email, and online grading programs.
Knowledge of common assessments and teaching methods.

Responsibilities

Designs and delivers structured lesson plans aligned with district standards.
Establishes high expectations for student achievement and participation.
Provides instruction that meets diverse student needs and applies feedback for improvement.
Maintains accurate attendance, grades, and essential documentation as directed by leadership.
Collaborates with parents, staff, and administration to enhance student learning experiences.
Engages in ongoing professional development and participates in extra-curricular activities when possible.
