Acceleration Academies is hiring a ScienceContent Coach (Science Teacher) to deliver competency-based science content and support personalized learning for students pursuing their high school diplomas. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Florida 6-12 secondary certification in Biology/Earth & Space is REQUIRED.
  • 2+ years of high school teaching experience recommended.
  • Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support enrollment through outreach, recruitment and engagement.
  • Advise assigned students and maintain communication with families and staff.
  • Plan and deliver instruction in one-on-one and small groups; track progress toward course completion.
  • Analyze data to inform instruction and address learning gaps.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to build personalized learning pathways.

The Role

As a ScienceContent Coach (Science Teacher), you will serve as the primary instructional resource for our students, delivering competency-based content, supporting personalized learning, and guiding students toward graduation and post-secondary success. You’ll work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support that empowers each learner’s journey.

Key Responsibilities
Enrollment
  • Support new student enrollment through outreach, recruitment, and engagement efforts
  • Assist in developing individualized learning plans tailored to each student’s goals, progress, and needs
Retention & Student Support
  • Serve as a primary advisor for assigned students, maintaining consistent communication with students and their support network (families, staff, etc.)
  • Monitor attendance, academic progress, and overall well-being to ensure students remain engaged and on track toward graduation
Instruction & Academics
  • Plan and deliver subject-area instruction in both one-on-one and small group settings
  • Track student progress toward course completion and mastery using a variety of assessments
  • Analyze academic data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes
  • Provide targeted support, remediation, and enrichment to address learning gaps and accelerate progress
  • Participate in professional development, data meetings, and school/community events
Collaboration & Advocacy
  • Partner with internal teams to design personalized learning pathways, transition plans, and student incentives
  • Represent the academy at community events and contribute to broader school initiatives
  • Perform other duties as needed to support student success and the academy’s mission
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master's preferred
  • Licensure: Florida 6-12 secondary certification in Biology/Earth&Space (REQUIRED)
  • Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred)
  • Skills: Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills
  • Passion: A deep commitment to helping at-risk youth succeed academically and personally
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in non-traditional or at-risk youth settings
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
  • Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and alternative education models
  • Experience with competency-based learning, instructional coaching, or project-based education
  • Strong comfort with educational technology tools and platforms
