Notre Dame Prep Upper School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic upper school Science Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming academic year. This position involves teaching high school science courses while fostering a classroom environment rooted in faith, respect, and intellectual curiosity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education.
• Valid state teaching certification DA (Biology) or DX, DQ, DI, DP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of high school science curriculum and laboratory safety practices.
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.

Responsibilities

• Teach high school science courses (e.g. AP Biology, IB Biology and Horticulture) according to curriculum standards.
• Develop engaging lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and hands‑on learning.
• Integrate Catholic values and ethical perspectives where appropriate within the curriculum.
• Assess student progress through assignments, labs, projects, and exams.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Participate in school activities, faculty meetings, professional development, and the spiritual life of the school community.
