Responsibilities/Duties

  • Teach using approved curriculum and assign individualized courses.
  • Administer assessments to newly enrolled students in Language, Mathematics, and Reading within the first month.
  • Monitor and administer testing for students upon completion of courses.
  • Participate in mandated testing and evaluate homework.
  • Monitor student credit completion and document in the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Manage attendance reporting and student records.
  • Coordinate with Student Relations on student folder updates.
  • Maintain accurate records as per Michigan Dept. of Ed. standards.
  • Be available to students and parents during appointments.
  • Assist students in accessing additional resources and refer to labs, tutoring, or counseling as needed.
  • Discipline students appropriately and keep work organized.
  • Meet Michigan Professional Teaching Standards and develop annual academic plans.
  • Complete report cards and participate in curriculum development.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and perform assigned administrative duties.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Understanding of Michigan Teaching Standards and educational trends.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and judgment skills.
  • Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Michigan Teaching License.
  • Teaching experience and familiarity with educational information systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to travel and lift up to 10 pounds.
Physical Requirements
  • High workflow management, multitasking, and working in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and perceive normal conversation and visual details.
