Job summary

Club SciKidz MD is hiring Lead Instructors to work in our science and technology camps for children aged 4-15 across multiple counties. The role targets certified teachers or education professionals with at least two years of experience leading groups of children, and involves implementing provided lessons.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, approx 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM plus before/after care shifts; pay starts at $575 per week, with certified teachers earning $640 weekly, depending on

Job description

Club SciKidz MD offers science and technology summer camps for children ages 4-15 years in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Lead Instructors to work in our camps at all of our locations. The Lead Instructor position is for certified teachers and other adults working in the field of education or childcare that have at least 2 years experience working with and leading a group of children.

Our day camps run Monday-Friday, and staff are scheduled by the week. Staff hours are approximately 8:15-4:15 with one before and one after care shift each week. Pay for Lead Instructors start at $575 a week and is dependent on your experience working with children and the fields of science & technology. Certified teachers are $640 per week.

We are looking for folks who:

• Enjoy working with children
• Have experience working with and teaching children; can lead a classroom of 20 children
• Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology
• Passionate about providing children with hands-on learning experiences
• Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
• Can commit to work at least 5 weeks. Dates vary depending on location. (Certified teachers can work as little as 3 weeks.)
• Having [some] experience with technology is a plus, but NOT a requirement

Daily responsibilities include:

• Supervising campers
• Implementing provided lessons (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)
• Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
• Have fun with what you are doing
• Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks that you are scheduled
• Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
