Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST) seeks a Manager of Programs and Internships to lead program development, manage partnerships, and oversee our Science Communication Internship Program. The role drives 30+ science programs annually and builds community engagement across Chicago.

Ideal candidate has 3+ years in programming/education/nonprofit, strong leadership and mentoring skills, and a passion for equity in STEM. Hybrid work with weekend/event flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in programming, education, science communication, or nonprofit work.
• 2+ years of experience managing teams or interns.
• Strong organizational, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Passion for equity in STEM and community outreach.
• Comfortable facilitating events and hands-on science activities.
• Familiarity with tools like Google Suite, Excel, Canva, Asana, MailerLite, or R is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute 30+ science-focused programs annually.
• Plan event timelines, budgets, and venue logistics.
• Collaborate with marketing for promotion and sponsorships.
• Manage logistics: venue, catering, AV, volunteers, registration, on-site flow.
• Create program materials and run-of-show documents.
• Oversee setup, execution, and teardown of events.
• Analyze surveys to measure impact and inform future strategies.
• Maintain program calendar and support grant proposals.
