Job summary

Lakeville North High School seeks an Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach, providing instruction, leadership, and supervision for all levels of the program, viewing athletics as extensions of the classroom that foster intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth in students.

Qualifications

• Prior participation, coaching, or mentoring experience preferred.
• Knowledge of rules, fundamentals, and safety principles of the sport or activity.
• MSHSL Coaching Certification required (or ability to obtain upon employment).
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach with implementing program mission, vision, and goals.
• Assist with planning practices, training sessions, and competitions.
• Model proper techniques and decision-making for students.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment emphasizing growth over outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with Head Coach, Activities Office, and staff.
