DISCOVERY Children’s Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada seeks a self-motivated Science & Nature Presenter I for a full-time role. The position involves engaging teachers, students and families with hands-on exhibits, presenting interactive demonstrations and assisting with special activities, all while maintaining a mission-oriented environment and high standards of customer service.

Position Description

DISCOVERY Children’s Museum seeks a self‑motivated, enthusiastic individual to work as part of an interpretive floor team comprised of adults and teen volunteers and interns. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while creating a mission‑oriented environment with excellent customer service and efficiency.

• Present interactive and educational demonstrations and assist with the development of special activities.
• Present public programs to large audiences inside and outside of the Museum setting.
• Support volunteers throughout the Museum.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a Science and Nature discipline or related discipline preferred.
• Teaching experience highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

Light and heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., sitting, bending, walking and standing.

Schedule Offered

• Monday: OFF
• Tuesday: 9:45am – 5:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:30am – 5:00pm
• Thursday: 9:45am – 5:00pm
• Friday: 9:45am – 5:00pm
• Saturday: OFF
• Sunday: 9:30am – 5:00pm

Schedule can change based on museum scheduling needs. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings.

Compensation

$14.00 per hour.
