Position Overview:

We are seeking a Science Lab Assistant to join our team for our Upper School for the 2025-2026 school year, starting on August 14th, 2025.

This role will support our newly created science laboratory in our upper school division (6th - 12th grade). If you have an interest in science and enjoy working with students, then this role would be a good fit.

This role will work for 10-14 hours a week at least three days a week.

This position reports to the Upper School Director and will work closely with two science teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and support a team of science teachers
  • Maintain and organize laboratory spaces and equipment
  • Procure and prepare materials for experiments and labs in the science curriculum
  • Manage laboratory inventory and inspect equipment regularly
  • Coordinate the disposal of hazardous materials and waste from classroom experiments
  • Stay up to date on laboratory safety procedures and best practices

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science preferred; high school graduate required
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures
  • Knowledge of basic scientific equipment and materials
  • Strong attention to detail, specifically as it relates to safety

Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $30.00 per hour.

Depending on the number of hours for this role, this role will be eligible for the Flexible Savings Account (FSA) and 401K retirement plan.
