Job summary

Pine Forge Academy seeks an enthusiastic and collaborative Science Lab Aide to support our growing science program. This role creates engaging, hands-on laboratory experiences for students across Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Physics, and STEM Innovations.

This position is ideal for an emerging science educator who enjoys working directly with students, managing laboratory operations, and collaborating with teachers to deliver high-quality science instruction in a Christian school

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; teaching experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and laboratory equipment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for working with high school students.
  • Commitment to Christian education and the mission of Pine Forge Academy.

Responsibilities

  • Laboratory Operations: Prepare materials, experiments, demonstrations; set up/clean spaces; maintain safety standards; organize inventory; coordinate purchasing.
  • Instructional Support: Assist faculty during lab instruction; support students; reinforce techniques; assist with grading.
  • Student Engagement: Foster a safe, engaging, Christ-centered learning environment; encourage curiosity and collaboration; support STEM initiatives.
  • Department Support: Collaborate with science faculty to improve lab experiences; assist with curriculum prep; perform additional duties.

Job description

Pine Forge Academy seeks an enthusiastic and collaborative Science Lab Aide to support our growing science program. This position plays a vital role in creating engaging, hands‑on laboratory experiences for students while supporting faculty across multiple science disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Physics, and STEM Innovations.

This role is ideal for an emerging science educator who enjoys working directly with students, managing laboratory operations, and collaborating with teachers to deliver high-quality science instruction.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Laboratory Operations
  • Prepare laboratory materials, experiments, and demonstrations.
  • Set up and clean laboratory spaces before and after instruction.
  • Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Organize, inventory, and maintain chemicals, equipment, and laboratory supplies.
  • Coordinate purchasing and inventory of laboratory materials.
Instructional Support
  • Assist faculty during laboratory instruction.
  • Support students during hands‑on experiments and laboratory activities.
  • Reinforce proper laboratory techniques and scientific inquiry.
  • Assist with grading laboratory assignments when requested.
  • Provide instructional support across Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Physics, and STEM Innovations.
Student Engagement
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered learning environment.
  • Encourage curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Support science fairs, STEM initiatives, and extracurricular science activities.
Department Support
  • Collaborate with science faculty to improve laboratory experiences.
  • Assist with curriculum preparation and instructional resources.
  • Perform additional duties that support the overall success of the Science Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma required (Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, or another STEM discipline preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and laboratory equipment.
  • Strong laboratory knowledge and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for working with high school students.
  • Commitment to Christian education and the mission of Pine Forge Academy.
  • Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
