Job summary

The Museum of Science in Boston invites applications for the Research and Science Communication Assistant (RSCA). This role supports visitors’ science learning by translating complex science concepts into engaging experiences and developing educational products under the guidance of Museum staff and external STEM experts.

The position requires a commitment of 1 full day per week during the 2026–2027 academic year, with an 8-hour weekly schedule (9am–5pm on Saturdays onsite) and 1 remote hour on

Qualifications

• Familiarity with informal science education practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain familiarity with best practices for science education and science communication to support visitors’ learning.
• Assist in designing and prototyping educational products such as handouts, activities, and exhibit components.
• Facilitate activities for visitors and provide logistical support for exhibits and materials management.
• Assist in ongoing evaluation projects by recruiting visitors to test offerings and collecting feedback data.
