Job description

We are seeking an experienced Science Curriculum Developer & Teacher Coach to join our team and play a key role in designing NGSS-aligned curriculum while supporting educators in effective implementation. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on science education by developing high-quality instructional materials and coaching teachers to bring engaging, inquiry-based science learning to life.

Position Overview

As a Science Curriculum Developer & Teacher Coach, you will be responsible for designing NGSS-aligned science curricula and providing professional development for teachers to enhance their instructional practices. Your role will focus on developing engaging, hands-on learning experiences that foster scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and real-world application of STEM concepts. Additionally, you will work closely with educators to provide training, resources, and ongoing support to ensure effective implementation in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Design and develop NGSS-aligned science curricula for elementary and/or middle school levels, incorporating hands-on, inquiry-based learning approaches.
  • Teacher Coaching & Training: Provide professional development workshops, instructional coaching, and mentoring to support teachers in implementing best practices for science instruction.
  • Resource Creation: Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that align with NGSS and support differentiated learning.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with school leadership, educators, and stakeholders to tailor curriculum and training to the needs of students and teachers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on best practices in science education, NGSS updates, and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance curriculum and teacher training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Science Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and inquiry-based learning.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and teacher coaching (preferably in STEM or science disciplines).
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills for leading professional development sessions.
  • Passion for improving science education and fostering student engagement in STEM.
