FWI, a federal communications contractor, seeks a Science Content & Digital Media Specialist to support NOAA's Oceanic and Atmospheric Research. You will translate complex science into engaging stories, graphics, and posts for digital, social, and print channels.

Responsibilities include researching, writing, editing, and shepherding content through review processes, developing content calendars, creating visuals, and analyzing engagement to guide strategy.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a technical or business discipline; advanced degrees may shorten required experience.
• 4+ years of professional or academic experience.
• Experience translating complex science to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Explain and organize complex scientific information into consumer-friendly content.
• Provide technical writing and editing for public materials across digital and print.
• Research, write, and edit audience-appropriate content for online and social channels.
• Develop themes and content schedules for external websites and social media.
• Create visuals including graphics and short videos for NOAA platforms.
• Monitor engagement analytics and adjust content strategy.
• Coordinate with NOAA teams to showcase OAR missions.
• Advise leadership on content strategy and audience engagement.
