Job summary

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of HTML, CSS, graphics and web standards.
• Familiar with web development tools such as Dreamweaver, Visual Studio and FrontPage.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Basic photo editing with Adobe Photoshop.
• Content management knowledge preferred.
• Understanding of web design fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Posting news stories onto the school's web page according to District standards.
• Training teachers and staff on how to create and manage teacher and group pages.
• Managing the school's website calendar.
• Managing and posting to the school's social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter).
• Managing and updating photos and photo slideshows on the school's site according to district standards.
• Sharing at least one story per month with the School District 308 Communications Department featuring an event, students or staff from the school (no more than 150 words).
• Serving as the school's primary contact for all building-level questions regarding the website.
• Attending trainings, webinars and informational sessions as needed (monthly/quarterly).
• Receiving and sharing tips, issues and topics of discussion amongst all district web page masters.
• Writing and editing content for school's website.
• Designing webpage layout (as needed).
• Determining technical requirements.
• Creating backup files.
