Job summary

CALEX SPORTS INC is seeking an After-School Volleyball Coach to lead engaging volleyball classes for K-5 students at Bay Area elementary schools. You will create a fun, supportive environment where kids learn, play, and thrive.

Classes run 1–1.5 hours with a flexible schedule, typically Monday to Friday. Pay ranges from $50 to $65 per class, depending on experience and location within the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience teaching or playing volleyball is preferred but not required.

Your Role:

As an After-School Volleyball Coach, you’ll lead engaging volleyball classes for students in grades K-5 at various elementary schools. You’ll be responsible for creating a fun and supportive environment where kids can learn, play, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Class Management:

• Energize and manage classes of 8-16 enthusiastic students aged 5-10.
• Teach volleyball using provided lesson plans that keep kids engaged.

Training & Preparation:

• Participate in a two-day training session to get you up to speed with our program.
• Transport and set up volleyball equipment for each class.

Administrative Tasks:

• Take attendance and manage student sign-in/out procedures.
• Foster positive communication with parents and school staff.
• Provide constructive feedback on each student’s progress.

Capture the Fun:

• Snap photos of kids in action during sessions to showcase their progress!

What We’re Looking For:

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in teaching or playing volleyball is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and within a small team.
• A passion for working with children and effective classroom management skills.
• Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
• Reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.

Locations & Schedule:

• Classes are held at various elementary schools across the Bay Area.
• Classes run for 1 - 1.5 hours, starting between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Work two or more days per week with a maximum of 2-5 hours weekly.
