Job Requirements

Arrange to pick up customers or groups on a regular schedule. Check vehicle conditions such as tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure proper functioning. Collect fares or vouchers from passengers, make change, and issue receipts. Communicate with dispatchers via radio, telephone, or computer to exchange information and receive service requests. Complete accident reports when necessary.

Operate vehicles safely and courteously in compliance with traffic regulations. Drive shuttle buses, limousines, company cars, or privately owned vehicles to transport passengers, following safety laws and regulations. Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures. Report vehicle issues to dispatchers or mechanics. Operate specialized equipment like wheelchair lifts to transport passengers with special needs. Perform errands such as delivering mail or packages.

Pick up and drop off passengers at scheduled locations, adhering to strict timetables. Meet passengers as per requests or schedules. Prepare reports on trips, including passenger count, hours, mileage, fuel, and fares. Assist passengers with entering/exiting vehicles and luggage. Provide local area information and read maps. Record vehicle routes and regulate vehicle systems for passenger comfort. Report malfunctions, delays, or accidents promptly.

Test vehicle equipment regularly to ensure proper operation.
