Job summary

Shenandoah Community School District in Shenandoah, IA is seeking a Van Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for students on daily routes. As the first and last staff member students meet, you ensure a positive, orderly environment during transit.

Responsibilities include operating the school van on schedule, supervising students, pre/post-trip inspections, and complying with DOT/education regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and child abuse registry check.
• Must pass a DOT medical examination.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid Iowa Chauffeur's License.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school van on designated routes and on schedule.
• Maintain order and discipline among students in the van per district policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure peak operating condition.
• Adhere to Iowa DOT and Department of Education regulations.
