Job summary

Greencastle-Antrim School District is seeking a School Transportation Driver to safely transport students in a van or small vehicle on scheduled routes. You will ensure proper seating, use of seat belts, and assistance for students with disabilities.

Maintain route rosters and mileage logs, and perform daily vehicle inspections. The role requires a High School diploma and a Commercial Driver’s License with “S” endorsement, as well as valid licenses and required credentials.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver’s License with “S” endorsement required.
• Driver's License and a valid license.
• Maintains required credentials and completes mandated safety trainings.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives a van or vehicle carrying up to 9 passengers along prescribed routes.
• Transport students to and from school, and for field trips as assigned.
• Load/unload passengers safely; ensure seat belts are used; assist students with disabilities.
• Keep route schedules, rosters, and mileage records up-to-date; complete required reports.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues immediately.
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate student conduct; communicate with parents and staff as needed.
