Job summary

Washington County Public Schools is seeking an Alternative School Vehicle (Van) Driver for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time role provides safe transportation for up to 10 students who cannot ride a traditional bus, serving the Foundation School in Montgomery County.

Required: high school diploma or GED, at least 21 years old, and five years of driving with a valid license. You will perform pre-trip inspections, follow WCPS policies, and maintain confidentiality of student records.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Five (5) years of driving experience with a valid license.
• Commitment to safety and ability to manage students, including those with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely to and from schools/programs/destinations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle is clean and in good mechanical condition.
• Obey traffic laws and safety regulations; maintain discipline and professional demeanor.
• Maintain records and submit required reports; ensure confidentiality of student information.
• Attend all in-service training to maintain certification.
• Discharge students only at authorized stops and transport only authorized students.
