Job summary

New Horizons is looking for a Van Driver to transport persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities on a school route in Batesville, IN. The Van Driver is responsible for the safe transport of individuals from home to facility-based services and back, and will assist passengers during boarding and disembarking.

Job qualifications include a valid driver's license with 5 years of driving experience and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Twenty-One (21) Years of Age or older.
• Valid Driver’s License and 5 years driving experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Complete required training including First Aid/CPR certification.
• Drug Test required and Background report and TB test required.

Responsibilities

• Transport persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities using agency vehicles.
• Assist passengers as needed in boarding and disembarking the vehicle.
• Complete visual pre-trip and post-trip inspections for safety and proper functioning of the vehicle.
• Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance oversight of the vehicle assigned.
