Job summary

First Student in Rockton, IL is seeking a Part-Time School Van Driver to start students’ days with morning pickups and return them safely after school. No experience is required as expert training is provided.

Pay ranges $18.50–$21.25 per hour with a $1,000 sign-on bonus; benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and a flexible split-shift schedule AM/PM. Career advancement is available across 540+ locations in the U.S. & Canada.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• No experience required; training provided.
• Subject to DOT drug testing for safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the vehicle to minimize distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of brakes, lights, tires, and exits.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the vehicle clean.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or behavior.
• Demonstrate leadership and strong customer service.

As a Part Time School Van Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You will start students' days with morning pickup before school and transport them safely back home in the afternoon. Additional hours for field trip and special event transportation may be available.
