Job summary

Student Transportation Of America is seeking a Dispatcher to support daily routes, trips, and school transportation programs. The role involves daily contact with drivers, school district personnel, and parents, and requires careful handling of confidential information.

You will coordinate routes, verify staff, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting operations across STA facilities. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1 year of customer service experience, and a valid CDL

Qualifications

Experience in customer service and communications required.
Proficiency with MS Office and general computer skills.
Knowledge of federal/state regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Communicate with schools, parents, drivers and aides; answer inquiries on two-way radio.
Ensure employees report to work and complete paperwork as scheduled.
Ensure vehicles are staffed; assign substitute drivers; plan routes and stops; track timing.
Read and follow School District contracts.
Report concerns or issues to Operations Manager or Supervisor.
Keep records, submit reports, and conduct daily vehicle inspections.
Assist in scheduling maintenance and billing tasks as needed.
Be on-call for emergencies; drive a bus as needed; coordinate with departments.
