Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of standard transportation methods and operation of buses.
• Good knowledge of automotive repair methods and tools used in the trade.
• Good knowledge of the geography of the district and driving safety practices.
• Knowledge of the New York State Motor Vehicle Law and applicable regulations.
• Ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates; maintain records and prepare reports.
• Ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships; dependable and tactful.
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Responsabilités

• Act as liaison with parents, students, teachers and school administrators.
• Receive, review and resolve complaints regarding service.
• Oversee and assist in enforcing behavior rules for student riders; refer serious problems to a Principal.
• Establish routes and time schedules for drivers.
• Supervise service, maintenance and repair of all district vehicles.
• Write specifications for new vehicles and equipment.
• May train new drivers and assign substitute bus drivers for extra-curricular trips.
• Supervise loading and recommend stopping places for buses.
• Assist in preparing state transportation reports and mapping bus routes.
• Keep daily mileage and pupil counts; prepare cost-in-operation reports.
