Job summary

Moorpark Unified School District is seeking an organized Transportation Assistant under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor to help plan and coordinate school bus transportation for home-to-school routes, field trips, athletics, and special education services.

The position supports daily driver assignments, dispatches buses, maintains driver communications, and assists in responding to operational issues, emergencies, and compliance documentation to keep the transportation program

Responsibilities

• Assists in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of regular home-to-school routes, special education transportation, preschool transportation, field trips, athletic events, extracurricular activities, and other District transportation services.
• Dispatches buses, District vehicles, and bus drivers to ensure safe, timely, and efficient transportation services; coordinates route changes and vehicle substitutions as operational needs require.
• Maintains continuous communication with bus drivers using two-way radio, telephone, GPS, and other communication systems; responds to routine operational questions and provides direction during daily transportation activities.
