Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking Temporary Support Assistants to help with the instructional and personal care needs of students across Preschool to Secondary levels. The role emphasizes supervision, data collection, and collaboration with teachers to support individualized goals.

Responsibilities include assisting with self-care, social behavior, and basic instructional tasks, while adhering to AACPS policies and participating in professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
• Formal academic courses/training in child development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in routine supervision of students throughout the day; assist on/off bus and monitor entry/exit.
• Assists students with social behavior, self-care and daily living activities.
• Supports students during instruction in one-on-one or small groups as directed by staff.
• Observes and manages student behavior in classrooms, lunchrooms, and other areas.
• Collects data on student performance and behavior as directed by the supervisor.
