Job summary

The Watson Institute in Sewickley, PA seeks a Speech Therapist to support students with disabilities, focusing on language and communication needs in our Education Center.

Responsibilities include evaluating students, developing treatment plans, implementing IEP goals, collaborating with staff and families, and participating in professional development; compliance with clearances and pre-employment medical are required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Active PA Teaching Certificate in Speech is required.
  • ASHA CCC-SLP preferred; CFY eligible if applying for a Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • Three years school-based experience preferred.
  • Ability to supervise students during drills and assist with lifting.
  • Compliance with PA Acts 34, 114 and 151 Clearances.
  • Pre-employment medical exam incl. TB test.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students and develop treatment plans.
  • Follow classroom management plans and behavior support.
  • Develop and complete IEP-related goals and processes within time frames.
  • Provide motivating activities and modify as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, district and parents.
  • Participate in professional development; work cooperatively with others.
