Job summary

Amergis is seeking a School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Springfield, TN, to work in schools on a contract-full-time basis. The SLPA will support the Speech-Language Pathologist with services, documentation, and treatment activities, within the plan of care.

Salary is $30 per hour, with a 37.50 hour work week. Ideal candidates hold an SLPA associate degree or a bachelor’s in SLP/communication disorders, plus 100 hours of supervised fieldwork and current licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree in SLPA or a bachelor’s in SLP/communication disorders.
• Minimum of 100 hours supervised field work or equivalent.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the state of practice.
• One year of SLPA experience preferred.
• TB questionnaire or chest X-ray if applicable; health certificate per contract.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services.
• Engage in clinical, educational, documentation and treatment activities.
• Adhere to plan of care and professional standards.

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant assists the SpeechLanguage Pathologist in providing speech and language services. The Speech Language Pathologist Assistantwill have clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment relatedactivities while working within the scope of responsibilities/ plan of careassigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’sdegree, or have a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology orcommunication disorders program
• Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours ofsupervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent asrequired by state and/or contract
• Current certification or licensure as a Speech-LanguagePathology Assistant in the State of Practice
• Complies with all relevantprofessional standards ofpractice
• One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language PathologyAssistant experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
