Job summary

The Baker Center for Children and Families is seeking a School Social Worker (LICSW or LCSW) for the Manville School in Boston. The role focuses on delivering trauma-informed mental health services to students from kindergarten through high school within a school setting.

You will lead a caseload, complete all clinical documentation in our EMR, and collaborate with families, schools, and external providers.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Social Work.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts, or ability to obtain licensure within 6–12 months.
• 1–3 years of clinical experience with children/adolescents in school, educational, behavioral health, or similar settings.
• Experience in crisis management, risk assessment, and de-escalation.
• Experience in evaluation and assessment to support diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations.
• Experience in case management and knowledge of services and levels of care.
• Clinical supervision experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides weekly therapeutic services to an assigned caseload of students.
• Provides comprehensive case management services to students and families.
• Co-leads weekly clinical groups supporting identity work and social–emotional learning.
• Conducts clinical assessments and diagnoses in bio-psychosocial format.
• Develops clinical treatment plans and implements structured approaches.
• Chairs and participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings with teachers and specialists.
• Collaborates with outside service providers for the student’s case.
• Provides consultation, risk assessment, and crisis intervention as needed.
• Engages and treats high-risk family systems.
• Participates in development and delivery of clinical trainings.
• Assists in supervising social work interns as requested.
• Completes clinical documentation in EMR (intakes, progress notes, plans).
