Job summary

Cross Country Education in Howell, MI is seeking a School Social Worker for the 2026–2027 school year to support students in a transition program aimed at employment, postsecondary education, and independent living.

Qualifications

• MSW degree required.
• Active Michigan Department of Education School Social Worker Certification.

Position Overview

• Provide social work services and individualized support to students participating in a transition program designed to promote success in employment, postsecondary education, and independent living.
• Conduct assessments, develop goals, and implement interventions that address students' social, emotional, behavioral, and transition-related needs.
• Collaborate with students, families, educators, community agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate services and support successful transition outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation, participate in planning meetings, and ensure compliance with applicable special education and transition services requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)
• Valid Michigan Social Worker License
• Active Michigan DOE School Social Worker Certification
• Experience working with adolescents or young adults with disabilities, particularly in transition planning, special education, or related settings(Preferred)
