Job summary

The Muskegon Heights Public School Academy is seeking a dynamic Full Time School Social Worker to support students, families and staff onsite with potential for virtual delivery. The ideal candidate will have a Master's in Social Work, Michigan licensure and full approval as a School Social Worker, plus at least three years of relevant experience.

You will collaborate across departments, perform assessments, provide counseling, crisis support, and coordinate with community services to promote

Qualifications

Master's degree in social work required.
Michigan social worker license required.
MDE Full Approval as School Social Worker required.
Minimum three years of successful social work experience.
Current knowledge of best practices.

Responsibilities

Direct Services with students: conduct assessments, promote attendance, home visits, counseling, crisis intervention, case management, referrals, and coordination with agencies.
Direct Services with Families/Communities: promote parental involvement, home visits, referrals, crisis intervention, and collaboration with community agencies.
Program Planning and Evaluation: participate in planning, evaluation and policy development for school social work services.
Advocacy and Consultation: function as an advocate respecting diverse communities and facilitate preventive interventions and classroom support.
