Job summary

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5 (IU5) in Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time School Social Worker to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs within IU5 and district settings.

Responsibilities include direct counseling, crisis intervention, assessments, and collaboration with teachers, families, and community resources to remove barriers to learning and enhance educational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work required.
• Current PA license as LSW or LCSW.
• PA certification as a School Social Worker PK-12 required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct counseling to students (individual & group).
• Conduct assessments to identify social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Develop intervention plans tailored to student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, admins, and staff to support goals.
• Consult with parents/guardians for guidance and support.
• Coordinate with community agencies for resources.
• Participate in IEP development and monitor goals.
• Maintain records and document services and progress.
• Ensure continuity of care and follow-up with families.
• Advance SBAP and PDE compliance and guidelines.
